This Privacy Policy explains how BookInfluencers ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use our mobile application, website at bookinfluencers.app, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
The Services integrate third-party APIs including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google (YouTube), and TikTok. This policy satisfies the data-disclosure requirements of each of those platforms as well as Apple App Store guidelines and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account data — name, email address, username, profile photo, bio, and role (brand or influencer).
- Business data — company name, website, industry, and campaign details (brands only).
- Creator data — social media handles, follower counts, niche categories, pricing, and payment details (influencers only).
- Communications — messages, support requests, or feedback you send us.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers (IDFA / IDFV on iOS), IP address, and crash logs.
- Usage data — screens viewed, features used, session length, taps, and in-app events needed to operate and improve the app.
- Analytics data — aggregated statistics about how users interact with the Services (via Firebase Analytics or equivalent).
2.3 Information from linked social accounts
When you connect a social media account, we receive data as permitted by your privacy settings and the permissions you grant. The specific data received from each platform is detailed in Sections 4–6.
3. Apple App Store & iOS
The BookInfluencers app is available on the Apple App Store for iOS devices. By downloading and using the app you agree to both these Terms and Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
We may collect the following categories of data as disclosed in the App Store privacy label:
- Contact info — name, email address (used for authentication and communication).
- Identifiers — user ID and device ID (used for app functionality and analytics).
- Usage data — app interactions and diagnostics (used to improve performance).
- User content — photos or files you optionally upload to your profile.
We do not use your data for Apple's advertising network. Push notifications (if enabled) are used only to deliver campaign updates, deal alerts, and payout confirmations.
In-app purchases, if offered, are processed exclusively through Apple's payment system; BookInfluencers does not have access to your Apple ID credentials or payment card details.
4. Meta Platform API (Facebook & Instagram)
Our Services integrate Meta's APIs, which may include Instagram Graph API, Instagram Basic Display API, and Facebook Login. By connecting your Instagram or Facebook account, you agree to be bound by Meta's Platform Terms and Meta's Privacy Policy.
Data we receive from Meta
- Facebook or Instagram user ID and public profile name
- Profile picture URL
- Email address (if you grant the
emailpermission) - Instagram media count, biography, and account type
- Follower and following counts (where permitted by your account settings)
- Audience insights and post-level metrics (for business and creator accounts that grant access)
How we use Meta data
- To populate and verify your BookInfluencers creator profile
- To display relevant reach and engagement data to brands during campaign matching
- To verify account authenticity and prevent fraud
You can revoke our access at any time in your Facebook App Settings or Instagram Account Access. Revoking access will remove your linked social data from our platform.
5. Google API Services (YouTube)
BookInfluencers uses the YouTube Data API v3 to allow users to connect their YouTube channel and display performance data within the platform.
Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.
Data we receive from YouTube / Google
- YouTube channel ID, channel name, and profile picture
- Subscriber count and total view count
- Video titles and public performance metrics (views, likes, comments) for business purposes
- Channel analytics data (if you grant the
yt-analytics.readonlyscope)
How we use YouTube data
- To populate your creator profile with verified channel metrics
- To display reach data to brands during influencer discovery and matching
- To report campaign performance after collaboration
We store YouTube data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the requested service. We do not use YouTube data for advertising targeting or share it with unauthorised third parties.
6. TikTok API
BookInfluencers integrates with the TikTok API (TikTok Login Kit and/or TikTok Display API) to allow users to link their TikTok accounts and showcase their creator metrics. Your use of TikTok features is subject to TikTok's Privacy Policy and TikTok's Terms of Service.
Data we receive from TikTok
- TikTok username and display name
- Profile picture and biography
- Follower count and following count
- Video count and total likes
- Post-level performance metrics (views, likes, shares, comments) where authorised
How we use TikTok data
- To build and verify your BookInfluencers creator profile
- To enable brands to discover and evaluate influencers by their TikTok metrics
- To provide campaign reporting after a collaboration is completed
You can revoke our access to your TikTok account at any time through TikTok's privacy settings under "Manage app permissions".
7. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies (users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom), we rely on:

8. How We Share Data
We share data only as necessary to operate the platform:
- Other platform users — creator profiles (name, photo, metrics, niche) are visible to brands for discovery and matching. You control which data is included in your public profile.
- Service providers — hosting (Firebase / Google Cloud), analytics, crash reporting, and payment processors, under contracts requiring appropriate data security.
- Legal authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BookInfluencers or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
9. International Data Transfers
Our services may involve the transfer of personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or rely on an adequacy decision. The third-party APIs we integrate (Meta, Google, TikTok) conduct their own international transfers in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law:
- Account data — retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account closure upon request.
- Third-party social data — retained only while your account is connected; deleted upon disconnection or account closure.
- Transaction and payment records — retained for up to 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.
- Crash logs and diagnostics — retained for up to 90 days.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your personal data.
- Restriction — ask us to stop processing your data in certain circumstances.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based.

12. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for users aged 18 and older (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. 13. Security
We implement technical and organisational security measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your data.
14. Cookies and Tracking
Our website may use essential cookies for session management and security. Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) may be used to understand traffic patterns. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Our mobile app uses Firebase Analytics and may use device identifiers for crash reporting; you can opt out of analytics in the app settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and, where required, through the app or by email. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
